In January the Tour de Steamboat family learned how close to home our Sunshine Kid’s fundraiser really is when my friend and co-director Brad was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Currently Brad is undergoing a regimen of chemotherapy and radiation. This event means more to us then ever as we get a first hand look at what the children we help with this event deal with daily. Join us in honoring Brad (and everyone who is touched by cancer) by participating in the 2009 Tour de Steamboat ride attending the pre-ride benefit dinner, or both! Donating directly to the Sunshine Kids is an even greater way to help kids struggling with this disease.
Incidentally, Brad and his wife Laura are graciously sharing their experiences and optimism with us all by maintaining a blog dedicated to his progress with this disease. Please take a moment and read about this amazing couple at:

In the mean time, keep riding and we hope to see you here in July!

The Sunshine Kids Mission and Goal
The Sunshine Kids Foundation adds quality of life to children with cancer by providing them with exciting, positive group activities, so they may once again do what kids are supposed to do . . . have fun and celebrate life!
It is the goal of the Sunshine Kids Organization to provide young cancer patients with opportunities to participate in positive group activities which promote self-esteem, personal accomplishment and just plain old fashioned fun! Funded by personal contributions, corporations and foundations, the Sunshine Kids continues, as it has since its inception, to provide all of its activities completely free of charge to the children’s families and hospitals.
